Volunteer Opportunities

Committees

RBCERTAA has five organized committees to achieve the goals of the organization. Your fellow Alumni are always looking for assistance with the operation with the organization. These committees are:

Communication

Bob Applegate, Chair - Responsible for the Newsletter, Web Site and Hot Line. It is working to define the radio communication needs of CERT during an emergency

Funding

Marcelle McCullough, Chair - Responsible for raising funds for the organization.

Public Relations

Marcelle McCullough, Chair - Provides official representation at city events, releases articles for newspapers, etc.

Community Involvement

(No Current Chair) - Includes supporting Relay for Life, Block Parties, Safety Fair and other events

Equipment

Phil Gilbreth, Chair - Responsible for all RBCERTAA equipment, including our Disaster Trailer, Van and Supplies

Board of Directors

Nominations for the board are typically in May and elections are in June. To be nominated one must be a CERT graduate with current first aid and CPR certifications, and have attended at least two board meetings in the past six months.

Other Opportunities

During the year other volunteer activities are listed in the calendar, including support for the American Cancer Society and the Beach Cities Health District.
