13th, 2003 Field Transportation & Lifting was run by Captain Bob
Engler, Firefighter / Paramedic Kurt Mahoney and Firefighter / Paramedic
Melissa Ziehl.
Due to their background in sports and massage therapy, Kurt &
Melissa gave us a lot of helpful tips about heavy lifting as well
as strengthening and stretching exercises. Lifting: use your leg muscles,
not your back. Place your feet at shoulder length stance, toes outward.
Keep your head up, and keep the weight close to your body.
