Who: People
18 years or older, living or working in Redondo Beach have priority
in the classes. Residents of Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach
may attend if space is available Classes are limited to 35 people.
When/Where: The
CERT Academy is taught over an eight week period on Thursday
evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM in the Main Library, Room A, Second
Floor, 303 N. PCH, Redondo Beach. The Disaster Simulation and
Graduation is held on the Saturday following the last evening class
from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Fire Station #2, 2400 Grant Avenue; lunch
is provided. Classes usually start in February, June and September. See

Cost: $40.00 per person.
This is charged by the Fire Department to cover some of their costs.
None of the money goes to RBCERTAA. The fee includes a designated
CERT hard hat, CPR & first aid certification, CPR pocket mask,
photo identification card, training manual and graduation certificates.
Upon successfully completing the training,
you will be registered as a CERT volunteer with the Redondo Beach
Fire Department and the FEMA: Code
of Conduct and RBFD
