Reminders
Over
40 alumni attended the November 2009 training opportinity. Watch
for the announcement of the 2010 mandatory training opportunities
to renew your status as a registered Disaster Service Volunteer.
Be
sure your bring your current CERT ID and all your Personal Protective
Equipment including helmet, gloves, dust mask and eye protection.

from the RBFD. Boots
are recommended.
NIMS Training
RBCERTAA alumni are to take the following
NIMS classes in order to comply with federal requirements.
Alumni can attend the last Thursday
class to complete this requirement or can take the class online.
Recent CERT academies now take these as part
of the CERT training. Visit the
www.fema.gov
website or select the classes below.
IS-100 Introduction
to the Incident Command System
IS-700
Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
Once you have completed the tests
and received your certificates in the mail or online, please mail
or deliver copies to Redondo Beach Fire Dept. Station #1, 401 S.
Broadway, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
First Aid and CPR
Alumni can renew their first aid and CPR certifications for
free by attending classes 3, 4 and 5 of the next CERT Academy. Check
with Fire Department to verify the class schedule.

ID
Keep your phone number and email current with the RBFD.
Also, in an emergency, it is imperative that you have your CERT
ID badge, as this will identify you to city personnel, and allow
you to assist. If you have lost your original badge or want a badge
replacement due to fading, warping or normal wear-and-tear, contact
Fire Station #1 at 318-0663 to arrange a time for a photo session.
