Call to Order: Meeting called to order by President, Lisa Burke, at 6:36 p.m. (9 board members present).

 

Introduction of guests: Lisa introduced the guests (listed above) and welcomed them to our meeting.

 

Approval of Minutes: The minutes for April 4th, 2006 were approved by the board.

 

A. NEW BUSINESS

 

President, Lisa Burke submitted a copy of  the RBCERTAA Committee and Responsibility List to the board members. The following additions were made to the list, as listed below:

It should be noted that LeRoy Radcliffe and Monty Ruth signed up for the Communications Committee.

 

Jennifer and Jeff Adam, Marcelle McCullough and Monty Ruth signed up for the Food Committee.

 

Alisa Zells, Bob Heil and Noble Smith signed up for the Newsletter Committee.

 

Monty Ruth signed up to work on the Generator Committee.

 

Monty Ruth signed up to work on the Container Committee.

 

Tri-Annual BICEPP Competition – Captain Rick Martinez wants RBCERTAA represented at the competition. Volunteers and alternates are required for this event.

 

RBFD Open House May 13, 2006 (10:00 am to 3:00 pm)  – The locations were Station I at 401 S. Broadway and Station II at 2400 Grant Ave. It was the opinion of the committee that Station II was busier than Station I. Per Lisa Burke the event was successful and well-received by the community.

 

Fire Department Corner – FF Grant Currie displayed an operating guide called Rite in the Rain, (for approximately $8.95)  which might be of interest to RBCERTAA members.

 

 

B. OLD BUSINESS

 

 Treasurer's Report (Michael): Treasurer's Report was distributed.

 

 Misc. Bills to pay

            - Receipt was submitted for $67.20 from  Lisa Burke for a heavy duty file cabinet. A key will be

              given to the President and to the RBFD.

 

            - Check #2088 was paid to Michael Vaccaro for reimbursement for flowers for the funeral of Peter

               DePortillo.

 

            - Jennifer Adams presented $253.00 in donations for apparel.

 

C. COMMITTEES AND ASSIGNED TASKS   

 

i. Website Maintenance (Valerie)

             - Valerie has had no new updates, but has the current class information on the web site.

             - Per Secretary, Margot Hoffman, although the RBCERTAA by laws and election policy are

                not updated on the web site, anyone wishing to be eligible to apply to the Board of Directors, 

                must have attended two board meetings within a six month period. 

                         

ii. First Aid Supply Donations (Marcelle)

             - Supplies have been requested, no response so far.

iii. Website Billing Issue

             - Discussion pending regarding the web site payment per Garth McWhorter

iv. Calendar & Monthly Info. Notice (Dennis)

             - Dennis Cajili will provide monthly updates.

v. Le Boutique CERT (Jennifer)

            - Jennifer discussed obtaining a mannequin to display CERT shirts for sale. Jennifer

              was told that RBCERTAA member, Chris Meyers may have some in put regarding

E. OPEN FORUM

 

i. Items from the floor (subject to time limits per Robert's Rules)

   Chief Dan Madrigal thanked the RBCERTAA board members for their support. Chief Madrigal

   also spoke of CERT behavior, CERT protocol and CERT chain of command.

   Chief Madrigal swore in Marcelle McCullough and Monty Ruth, RBCERTAA’s most recent Board

   Members.

 

   Free training courses are available on line through FEMA. Google FEMA TRAINING.

 

   Marcelle McCullough is going to attend the National CERT Conference on 5/16/06 and will report

   her experiences to the group at the next board meeting.

 

F. Adjournment – Marcelle McCullough motioned that the meeting be adjourned and was seconded by Jennifer Adam.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:41 PM.
