Meeting called to order by President Garth at 6:29 p.m. (11 board members present.)

Motion to approve minutes and for June 7, 2005 was first motioned by Mike Grady and seconded by
Alisa Zells, with the following changes: (Under Village Runner
The motion was approved with ten yeas and one no.).

NEW BUSINESS:
Victor Matsamura,
Sales Representative for Proforma.Com (Apparel Sales) disclosed that he would
like to develop a long term business relationship with RBCERTAA to sell polo
shirts, sweatshirts and other accessories. He left his card and asked that we
stay in contact with him regarding future sales.
Fire Department Corner:
Capt. Rick Martinez stated that he received Kudos from the RB Fire Department regarding
RBCERTAA’s volunteer efforts at the Village Runner’s Race on July 4, 2005.
Gary Horn gave five years of RBCERTAA photos to the board.
The nominees for the RBCERTAA BOD are the current board members and Dennis Cajilli and Jeff Adam.
Per Garth, nine RBCERTAA Board Members attended the Fire Suppression training in June 2005.
Per Garth, on Saturday, July 3, 2005, he, Jennifer and Jeff Adam and Noble Smith stuffed 2000 RBCERT fliers into the runner handout information package.
Twenty two alums offered to volunteer at the Village Runner event and twenty one alums (including seven board members) showed up to participate on July 4, 2005. Garth gave out 21 hats to RBCERT volunteers who manned the Registration booth, passed out bananas, passed out bottled drinks and passed medals to the child runners. Approximately 2,500 runners participated in the event.
Per Mike Grady, Relay for Life is taking place on July 23rd, 2005.
Alisa Zells will check whether the Target grand opening on
October 9, 2005,
a viable place for RBCERTAA to seek new recruits.
Jennifer Adam asked if RBCERTAA Board Members should contact RBCERT drop outs to see why they left? Rick Martinez will decide if RBFD personnel will contact the drop outs or not.

Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Heil made a motion to pass the Treasurer’s report and Lisa Burke seconded the motion.
The following revenue was reported to RBCERTAA:
Julie Treher gave a check for $25.00 for apparel sold.
The following checks were paid:
#2070 Margot Hoffman $14.54 (water) per receipt
#2071 Julie Treher $14.80 (stamps) per receipt
Drills & Trainings:
The phone tree call out will take place on Sunday 9/18/05. Other Continuing Education is pending
Website (Valerie):Progress is on-going. Updated information will be provided monthly.
Per Lisa Burke, Loren Avedon is not working on the web site.
Calendar:
Alisa Zells left the meeting at 7:13 pm and no other updates were provided.
Phone List and Addresses of Board Members:
Per Margot all addresses and phone numbers are current.
Funding & Equipment:
No change per Gary Horn. Regarding trailer organization on 6/14/05, the work went well.
inventory meeting in August.
Phone Tree:
Per Julie, RBCERTAA Board of Directors should pick five alums to be Team Leaders who want to be on the phone tree with two alternates. Deadline will be two weeks after the July 5, 2005 meeting.
Boutique CERT:
Julie is running out of merchandise. Julie and Lisa want to give away the following items for the best CERT bag at the class:

Per Michael Vaccaro – The slow items should be given out as prizes.
CERT class/Graduation Day Drill Committee:
Per Lisa Burke, having the RBCERTAA alums and board members on board is a good feeling. Rick Martinez and Matt Johnson are coordinating the Graduation day activities. Monty Ruth requested that we order chin straps to keep the RBCERT helmuts secured better.
Video/Photo Committee:
Progress is on-going. Monty Ruth is still gathering material for the script.
Announcements:
Next board meeting is on August 2, 2005.
Lessons learned per Bob Heil: Keep a colored
vest in your CERT bag, so if you are ever assisting at a
Scene, you will make yourself more visible
to oncoming traffic. Also, don’t turn your back on traffic if
You are at the scene of an accident.
Capt. Rick Martinez wants RBCERTAA to wear
reflective vests.
Jennifer and Jeff Adam cited a dangerous
area near the Village Runner registration booth on 7/4/05.
Lisa Burke said that this was the worst year
for illegal fireworks. Gary Horn keeps
Fire Department
Dispatch and local police department numbers on his cell phone.
Having no further business the Board Meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:33 pm, per motion
by Michael Vaccaro and seconded by Gary Horn.
