Meeting called to order by President Garth McWhorter at 6:32 p.m. (11 board members present.)
Names of Board Members done by secretary, member absent: None.
Motion to approve minutes and financials for March 1, 2005 first motion by Mike Grady and seconded by
Gary Horn, with changes regarding of amount of payment to Lisa Burke for moulage at graduations and Roll call by Alisa Zells and other spelling errors. Alisa Zells abstained from voting to approve minutes and financials for the month of March, 2005.

NEW BUSINESS:
Fire Department Corner:
Per Division Chief Rick Martinez, the next drill will be on Saturday, May 14th, 2005 in the morning, followed by the Redondo Beach Fire Department Open House at both Stations 1 and 2.
The Reverse 911 calling out program is being researched pending cost analysis.
Rick Martinez wanted to thank us all for the assistance with
the RBCERT graduation on 3/25/05.
By-Laws proposals:
Discussion on proposals 2 and 3 were tabled until May 3rd, 2005 meeting – Proposal 1 and 4 were not accepted.
Memorial Day Parade – May 30, 2005
Per Paul Weavers advised that there will be no monetary entry fee and that the cut off date for entry is May 9, 2005. The parade step-off time is 10:00 am.
Discussion included questions about inviting cars from Budget Air Conditioning and Harbor Model A Club. Peter DePortillo asked if we should have custom motorcycles and/or Ferraris in the parade? Bob Heil asked if we should have large RBCERT decals for cars which carry CERT alums? The question came up about the CERT booth at the ceremony, however, clarification is needed.

Treasurer’s Report: .
Alisa Zells made a motion to pass the Treasurer’s report and Bob Heil seconded the motion.
Drills & Trainings:
The next CERT class will begin on Thursday, June 2, 2005.
Website (Valerie and Loren):Progress is on-going. Updated information will be provided monthly.
Funding & Equipment:
Gary Horn advised that he will have a meeting with Vince Dipane RBFD regarding a wish list.
Phone Tree:
Jennifer Adam called every number on the phone tree list (approximately 300) with mixed results. Lurraine said that when Jennifer called that she did an excellent job. Jennifer advised that 92 people need to call her back after she left messages for them. Jennifer and Julie will discuss plans to make the phone tree more productive.
Trailer:
No further information.
Boutique CERT:
Confirmed that 21 shirts with CERT logo and 12 RBCERT logo shirts are in the inventory. Mike Grady to verify the cost of 5 inch decals. Shirt order to be discussed at the May 5th, 2005 board meeting.
Graduation Day Drill Committee:
Lisa Burke left the meeting early and was unavailable for comment.
Tracking of Volunteer hours:
No new information was provided.
Randy’s Scholarship Committee:
Discussion is tabled at the present time.
Patriot Day event documentation:
Monty Ruth is editing film footage taken at Patriot’s Day 2004 to create a five to seven minute presentation for Adelphia Cable Company and for future presentations.
Open House Committee:
Donations of items are needed for raffles at the Open House on May 14th, 2005.
Video/Photo Committee:
Progress is on-going.
Parks and Recreation Guide:

Return of CERT logos program:
No information at this time
Announcements:
Mike Grady stated that if you are applying
to remain a board member that you should have timely
CPR and first aid cards.
Next board meeting is on May 3rd, 2005.
Per Valerie Heath, per e-mail the Mommy and Me Emergency Class needs a guest speaker if RBCERTAA is interested.
Valerie Heath provided the following updates regarding the Web Site:
Board of Directors has been updated except for pictures of Lisa Burke and Peter DePortillo.
Calendar of events has been updated.
Academy 29 dates are in place – will change the application to minimum of 18 years old.
January and February minutes are posted.
Meet the new Fire Chief is updated.
Still need Academy 27 pictures, and soon Academy 28 since they graduated in March, 2005.
The full page CERT ad will be sent to Teri for the quarterly magazine this week.
Per RBCERTAA there was no interest in participating in RELAY FOR LIFE.
Having no further business the Board Meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:02 pm, per motion
by Alisa Zells and seconded by Julie Treher.
